Found one!
For the 12 Days of Freecycle. Hey everyone, If you have an xbox that you don't want or use anymore, could you pass it along to me?? I can travel as far as [not far]. ThanksHmm, yeah, when we don't want or use ours anymore, it's going to CraigsList instead of the dump. //start butt-hurt gripe// I couldn't get a Wanted for an old-school vaporizer through on that list, so maybe I'm just being all butt-hurt that this xbox request got through. Modly-mod said a request for a currently-available item, even if the store that carries it has been sold out for weeks and doesn't know when more will be in, is a "cost-saving request, and our list isn't about saving money, but keeping items from ending up in the landfill". Does anyone remember those plastic tubs with water n the bottom and a little spot on top that you put Vicks in? Yeah, a lot of people had them and have them sitting in garages, but a request for one of those sitting in a garage isn't allowed because Target lists is on their website. Well, if Target would get them back in stock, I'd buy one. I have to wait now an indefinite time because the FC groups here won't let a request for one through. But an xbox? Sure, let that sucker right through. //end butt-hurt gripe// |

Birth Control Pill Oops?
I’ve seen it mentioned so many times, and I can’t help but wonder... How would someone ‘switch out’ birth control pills?? I’m not an expert on BCPs (I’ve been sterile for a long time), but to my knowledge, they come in two types of packaging – the bubble packs where you have to push the pills through the foil backing, and the dial-type, where you cannot ‘dial’ backward. To my knowledge, they do not come in regular pill bottles, where you can dump out a handful at once (am I wrong?). Also, most women know what their pills look like, whether the pills are white, yellow, beige, or whatever. Most pills have some sort of imprint on them with the pharmaceutical or product logo, or the dose, or the name of the medication. So, how could someone ‘switch’ these pills and not have the pill-taker know just what happened?? They’d have to find a pill that’s the exact same color and size, and find a way to get in inside what’s mostly tamper-proof packaging. The replacement medication would also have to not cause any immediate effects (drowsiness, for example). I’m not saying that BC pills can’t be switched, but every time I hear someone mention it, I can’t help but feel dubious. A friend of mine claimed that her boyfriend ‘switched’ her pills, then finally confessed that he actually didn’t, she just missed taking a few and didn’t want to take the blame when she got knocked up. So, how easy would it be, really? The logical, scientific side of me is thinking it would be pretty damn difficult, particularly with the tamper-proof packaging. Has anyone ever witnessed this happening?? |

Am I just missing something here?
I went to this shitty big box mall on the weekend (Square One in Mississasauga) Whilst sitting in the filthy as fuck food court, trying to ignore all the little sprogs. I noted the following: A trashy as fuck couple and their child, who was about 8 or 9 years old with COMPLETELY PISSED PANTS on. They didn't seem to bothered by this, and were continuing to shop in the mall like no big deal. What I can't seem to comprehend is why they would let their kid walk around a mall with piss soaked pants from crotch to the pant cuffs. I mean, if i had the idea of pissing my pants as a kid in a mall, my mother would have either taken me home or brought me to the washroom to try and dry my pants with one of those electric hand dryers.. she would have definitely NOT continued to shop in the mall while i walked around with piss pants. what the fuck is wrong with people!?! This wasn't even a small kid, he look atleast grade 2 or something. ..wtf |

Dear Carolyn: My Boyfriend Has No Right To Privacy Or Mental Health!
Adapted from a recent online discussion. Hi Carolyn: I just found out my boyfriend of three years has had a standing weekly appointment with a therapist for the past six months. I can't explain it, but I feel like I've been cheated on. I don't have a problem with his engaging in talk therapy if he feels it makes his life better, but I'm confused about why he didn't tell me (he still offers no explanation) and slightly uncomfortable with the fact that he's been consulting an outsider about, among other things, our relationship. Not sure about the fire story ... could be, but there have been no recent fires reported in this community.) |

Piedwick caught out in yet another lie
So for those following the history of this lunatic, she's been caught out in a flat out lie. Do you guys remember how she stated Bosco attacked her face and landed her in the ER? Well today she posted in a horse community I am a part of, posting pictures of her trollish self on the poor horse that is doomed.... check out her face and tell me this is someone who has been bitten by a dog and ended up in an ER. Granted she hit every branch on the ugly tree when she fell from it.... but that's another issue. She's also quite open about the fact the horse has little training but instead of taking a few steps backwards and putting in the effort to retrain this poor mare, she's shoved a harsh bit in her mouth, and says she will 'look into' trainers as soon as she can wean the foal. *HEAD DESK*  Oh and for those who don't know horses, she has a bit in that poor horses mouth which is really quite severe and should only be used by experts. Don't even get me STARTED on the damn saddle. |

A woman posted this to a forum I frequent today: Yesterday afternoon watering my garden and heard a loud voice say "Ya going to keep up with me ya b****d" and i turned around and an old guy was on a mobility scooter going like the clappers and i could hear gagging noise.
So i rushed to fence and this semi-elderly person had a pittyX on a short chain tied to the back of the mobility scooter and dragging the dog along no attempt to slow down and he was hiking full throttle. I yelled at him but he took no notice. So I grabbed my vehicle keys and took off in the vehicle to find him. And a young couple had managed to stop him or at least trying to.
The animal was stressed, panting heavily with bleeding paws. We called the police as we would not let the old chappy go and the dog was padlock to the scooter and short chain padlocked tight to dogs throat and he would not give us the key to release the pressure from the dogs throat. Police turned up, person in question was not arrested, but dog ceased and the young couple took dog to vets. Police took our statements late last night. Animal cruelty case to followShe added later in the thread that the pup was only about 6 months, and apparently this d-bag had another pup at home, but he'd only had them for 2 days. From the sounds of things, police, SPCA and this woman and the young couple are all intent on seeing it through to court and all so there's a bright side. |

WANTED: Cardio Fitness Machine, Haha & Srsly? My boyfriend and I have been so busy that we've become very out of shape.. we don't have time (or $$$!) to go to a gym, so I'm hoping that someone here might be looking to unload an elliptical or treadmill perhaps... Something preferably not too huge as we'd have to get it up a stairwell into our tiny 2nd floor apartment. It probably wouldn't fit in my car, so if it can be delivered, awesome, if not, then I will gladly rent a van/truck/whatever to come and get it. First post, Silly Outreach Antics
First post! Even though I'm a lurker and I was just recently accepted in... but I volunteer with our local Dog shelter and I helped with an outreach today and had some.. fun times. By and large, it was a very good experince, but there were a few points where I was in shock. Girl with the dog; I understand that we are parked next to the dog training center. I understand that you are working on walking your dog around other dogs without him zooming off and greeting. However, if our dog is growling and growling at yours, maybe it is a bad idea to walk. Much less five or six times and getting closer to our dog each time. The pen is for the dog. And me when I'm sitting with her. NO NOT YOU KID GTFO OF THE KENNEL. When I ask that one kid pet her at a time that MEANS one kid. Yes, when you pet her side and not her head, that counts too. When the dog is backing up constantly from you and crawling onto us, its a good bet that she's scared of you. No, sticking your arm further in and trying to pet her when she's shying away doesn't help. One lady asked us if we took puppies. We said, Yeah, if it was a stray. She says 'Oh, well, I had a litter of 12 and I didn't sell 2 of them...' Some people need a license to breed. Another lady decided that the dog I was handling, a border collie/terrier/heinz 57 mix named Wednesday, was the same size as the dog that she owned. So she decided to 'test' the coat she was buying for her dog on my dog. She accomplished this by throwing the coat on her and reaching down over her back to strap it on. Mind you, she didn't ask if it was okay or even let Wednesday smell her hand. She just threw and reached. And we discovered that morning that Wednesday is spooky about vests (we had to put the one she wore that day on the floor and make it a impromptu doggy food dish before she let us get near her with it), and she's people shy. :/ She was shaking and looking at me like she was scared to death. She didn't growl or bite, but I was worried that she was going to snap at her. |

Medicaid and Essure
So I recently read that Essure is covered by Medicaid. Apparently it has been for a while, but since I just received Medicaid, this made me excited. A few questions: 1) Did anyone here who had this procedure (or other sterilization procedures) use Medicaid to cover it? 2) If so, did you have a hassle trying to get coverage? 3) If you had a hassle, what types of obstacles should I expect when trying to get this done? Also: 4) Has anyone had this procedure done at a Planned Parenthood? Or is this something to find a personal gynecologist for? Thanks. Any other information would be awesome like woah. |

Long time shadowy lurker, first time poster!
As the title says, I've been lurking around here for some time now, enjoying the fact that I found people who think like me about procreating. Last night I came upon something so ... disturbing. So wrong, so... <shudder> disgusting, that I had to join to share.If this has been posted before and I missed it, I'm sorry for re-posting. Delete away if necessary!
I happened to stumble onto STFU,Parents. If that site doesn't make more people CF, then I don't know what else will. As I was browsing through, I managed to end up in this page WARNING: FOR STRONG STOMACHS ONLY! My jaw dropped. This woman ACTUALLY POSTED the UNEDITED version into her Facebook!! WHY?! For the love of baby kittens and rainbows, why?! And to make matters worse, apparently the man in the picture is her BROTHER (because, that's not creepy...). Reading the comments put the cherry ontop, especially when this one popped up: "My entire reproductive system just withered and died looking at that. Who needs sterilization surgery - looking at this site is just as effective and far less expensive!" Ain't that the truth.
Picture under cut for the linkaphobes! There are SO many things wrong here, I can't even begin. Well, yes I can. First off, WHO NAMES THEIR CHILD "Vagena"? ... REALLY? <facepalm>.... You know what, forget it. I have no words. You girls have at it!

This is far, far beyond the realm of "stupid", but since I've seen other posts about animal cruelty here, I figured it would be OK to post. The headline pretty much says it all: Mom ran pet ‘concentration camp,’ son says(Warning: the story is pretty horrific. No graphic pictures, though). What I can't fathom is why she is apparently only being charged with abuse of the still-living animals they found in cages in her house, and not with killing the dogs they found buried in the yard? I have a very hard time believing all of those dead dogs just ended up there by coincidence. I hope they charge her in the deaths of those poor dogs too, and I hope she gets whatever the maximum possible penalty is for these horrible crimes. Current Mood: disgusted |

Bratlings & Art
Both my boyfriend and my mother work in the same museum - Ateneum Art Museum in Helsinki. At the moment, they have a once in a lifetime exhibition of Picasso there, which is insured by a couple of billion euros. I know this, because my mom handled the insurance (a hassle), the transportation (a bigger hassle) and the hanging of the paintings. This thing is huge and marketed widely. The paintings are secured by excessive precautions, staff is added, everything has to go smoothly. You see where I'm going with this, don't you? This being a cf community and all? Boyfriend is handling things in the exhibition itself, guarding the paintings and giving directions. Two days ago, rich-looking moo and duh come in with their young son, who starts running around. With toy light sabers in his dirty little paws, waving them around.Moo and duh don't say much anything, just keep "enjoying" the paintings. Boyfriend says the little boy can't do that and that he has to stop. Moo gives him a dirty look, but mini-Vader is told to stop. That should be it, but isn't. In another part of the exhibition, the little fuckwit starts with this sort of behavior again. And hits a fucking frame. Moo and duh's reaction? None. Now, I know as a art historian's daughter I take these things really seriously, maybe way more than I should. But these are PICASSO'S PAINTINGS. YOU SON IS HITTING THEM WITH TOY LIGHT SABERS (that should've been taken by the cloakroom people, as guards can't do that). The alarm didn't ring, because he just missed its field. If it had, he probably couldn't have made that much damage. But the principle is the same, and something could've gone fucking wrong. So, moo, duh and sprog escaped without any kind of disciplinary action. Good for them, they saved some million euros. I, however, am still pissed. Fuck children. Sign the petition, send a coathanger
Why did pro-choice Democrats vote to approve the Stupak Amendment, the most serious assault on abortion rights in a generation? According to FiveThirtyEight.com, 20 of the 64 Democrats who joined Republicans to pass the measure are nominally pro-choice. We need to tell these 20 Democrats to reconsider their vote and urge Congressional leadership to do everything they can to ensure the health care bill that comes out of committee does not take us back to an era of coat hangers and back alley abortions. I just signed a petition to the 20 formerly pro-choice Democrats -- all of them men -- who voted to take away women's rights. For every person that signs the petition a coat hanger will be sent to remind these politicians what happens when women can't get access to reproductive health care including abortion. Please have a look and take action.EDIT: For those of you who don't know what this fuckwit Stupak is trying to do, he's trying to strip abortion coverage from your private insurance plans as well. Jon Walker at firedoglake.com has a good explanation: "The Stupak amendment would prevent any private health insurance plan from covering elective abortion, if even one of its customer used even one dollar of affordability tax credits. The problem is that the Stupak amendment will conflict directly with other parts of the bill. The bill would require “guaranteed issue.” This means that any insurer offering coverage to individuals on the health insurance exchange must accept all customers." WANTED: TURKEY, HAM, THANKSGIVING
I know some of you get coupons for Free Turkeys or Hams for the holidays and I could really use one if you have an extra!!! We have Lots of family coming in and in little extra help would be a tremendous help!! I can pick either a Turkey, ham, any other holiday fixins, or coupons anytime. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and have a blessed and Happy Holiday! I read this as "I want to have a huge Norman Rockwell-esque holiday shindig to impress my family, but I can't afford to buy food for everyone. Instead of either a.) scaling back this celebration to a more manageable level or b.) asking all of the guests (you know, the people who will actually be partaking in this feast...) for contributions, I would rather ask strangers on the Internet for donations instead. Oh, and since Christmas is right around the corner, don't be surprised if you see me again in about a month from now asking for more party food for me and my bigass family." |

we just adopted a 16 week old kitten. She is cute and very playful. We had thought we were prepared and we admit we made a mistake. We are just not a suitable family for a cat. She comes with many toys, a cat tunnel, a three level extravagant cat house/scratch post,treats, litter and a dish for food and water. Also a litter pan. Everything you would need to get you started. I am located near [your mom] on [your bed - gross!]. If you feel you would be an ideal family for this little kitten please respond and we can arrange to come and meet her. Thanks all. This offer just made me sad. To me, it smacks of, "We got a kitten. The kitten antics aren't cute anymore. Come and take it away!" |

This is one of the stupidest of stupids I have ever had to hear about! I honestly didn't think this kind of thing went on anymore.. I'm especially mortified to think the person that did this works with me. I'm notorious for taking in lost/abandoned/unwanted animals and re homing them and I cant understand why this person wouldn't have asked me! I would have taken them all in a heartbeat :(. Anyway, on with the horrible story.. My boyfriend and I both work at the same place. I was walking past his department today when I heard some of his staff gasping and talking rather loudly in a sort of shocked and upset manner.. I stopped to ask what the problem was because I'm a nosey bitch. My boyfriend didn't want them to tell me because he knew it would make me incredibly sad.. but after some badgering I got it out of him. Another lady who works for my boyfriend had drowned a litter of kittens earlier in the week due to the fact that she 'didn't want them'. As if that's not bad enough in itself, right? What a fucking horrible monstrous thing to do.. there were only five kittens and I dont think it would have been that hard to find homes for them. I just get the biggest chills when I think about this woman drowning these five kittens... she explained it to my boyfriend in very great detail and seemed to be boasting about it. Fucking sick. Unfortunately, it gets worse.. Apparently she didn't do such a good job of killing one of them because she found it sitting on top of the compost heap she'd buried the kitten corpses in the the next day.. it was breathing and quite alive.. the poor little thing had dug it's way out of the compost heap after only being half drowned! And now for the fucking stupidest part.. she says there's 'something wrong with it' because it cant walk very far, cant seem to eat and throws its head around alot. Obviously the poor little thing has sustained some sort of brain damage from being half drowned and probably deprived of oxygen.. horrible as it sounds, I wish she had of just 'finished the job' when she found the half alive kitten but instead has given it to her son who is 'quite attached too it'. I cant say for sure, but I imagine that it's in a bit of pain and I don't think it's very ethical to keep an animal that sustained brain damage as extensive as this kittens' sounds alive. Taking it to the vet is out of the question for these people, if you knew them you'd understand.. veterinarian just not something that's in their vocabulary, they don't seem to believe in spending any money at all on their pets. It makes so mad. Arghh I cant stop thinking about this poor little kitten.. I'm going to try and convince her to let me have it so that I can either take it to be euthanized or see about helping it. I have a feeling it will be dead by tomorrow evening when I see her.. I'd really like the opportunity to give it a peaceful and dignified death or to try and help it depending on how bad it is.. I'll have to see what she says, as much as I'd like too I cant just steal the thing. Actually.. I think I would consider stealing it, but I don't know where she lives anyway! Lol Some people are so twisted.. urghh. |

Observed Oddity
Overheard today while at the CD/DVD/Video Game store: parent (presumably) bribing the kid with a video game to get him to pray at home. ????? If one believes in that praying stuff (I don't) wouldn't the kid be expected to do it anyway? And even if you DO believe in said stuff, does a prayer you're BRIBED into doing count for anything? !!!!! Queston: did anyone here get "bribed" by parents to do stuff? I mean, besides the normal doing chores and getting an allowance that most of us had.
